Kelley Hollis
The Berkeley artist’s la chat souriant line of jewelry is inspired by a life-long love of vintage jewelry, especially plastics and enamel, manufactured in the 1940s thru the late 1960s. The color and texture of the pieces captured her imagination: fabulous rich colors and textures of Bakelite, celluloid, Lucite, and the intricate details of enamel painting. All pieces are handmade from vintage plastic and mother of pearl buttons and vintage brooches and earrings which have been upcycled and given new lives.
Kelley’s work will be featured at the Rare Bird on Thursday, July 21st, 2011 Click here for more information on the Rare Bird July Event.
