Jamie Noriega is a resident of the East Bay. He is inspired by billboards, folk tales, cartoons, religious icons and military propaganda posters. The materials he uses for creating collages are generally culled from the pages of illustrated children’s books, atlases of anatomy, travel, cooking and fashion magazines, and periodicals. Vintage gift wrap, napkins, postcards and photographs are all considered fair game and are manipulated to construct provocative, confrontational or whimsical realities.
Jamie’s work will be featured at the Rare Bird on Thursday, July 21st, 2011 Click here for more information on the Rare Bird July Event.
