This April, Piedmont Avenue is honoring Spring’s arrival with its annual Tulip Festival. Rare Bird is joining in on the fun with a party exhibiting two amazing Oakland artists. Suzanne Baker, our featured gallery artist, brings us Suki, her collection of new creations made of vintage fabrics. Designer Ajay Reed REEDesigns and re-purposes forgotten wooden furniture and found objects.

Featuring: Painter Justin Sobczyk and fashion forward fleece by Aprés Collective.
Sobczyk’s work is influenced by Earth, and it’s relation to the cosmos. “Messages From the Stars”, exhibits Sobczyk’s attempt to reconnect his viewers with otherworldy realms. Après Collective reflects creative director Jeanne Feldkamp’s passion for high-end modern design, sport, and world travel.

I’m excited to announce the much-anticipated opening of Rare Bird. Our doors open for business one week from today, November 16th!
Rare Bird is an eclectic mix of local designers, consignment and vintage finds. Come check out our well-edited collection of clothing, artwork and home décor.
We are proud to carry clothing designers: Après Collective, Boy-Girl Tees and Topi Hats. Jewelry by Colleen Mauer Designs, Re.viv.i.fy by Molly Cruit, Gij Jewelry by Joanna Wiederhorn, and Metaphor jewelry by yours truly.
We also feature refurbished vintage cameras by local artisan George Polley, a vast collection of vintage finds including belt buckles, handbags, records and more. And if that’s not enough, we’ve got gifts for you and your friends to add some spice to your life.
Rare Bird is enthusiastic about supporting local artists. We feature selected designers and gallery artists each month. Please stay tuned and join us regularly for celebrations and evenings of refreshments and gallery viewings.
