Bricolage
The mother-daughter team of Nancy Enkoji and Miyoshi Enkoji-Busch form the Oakland-based furniture refurbishing company Bricolage Oakland. The concept of bricolage — meaning to fiddle, tinker, to make creative and resourceful use of whatever materials are at hand — is applied to old pieces of furniture that may be a little beat up or just needing some tender loving care to be transformed into something new and beautiful. Bricolage’s mission is to rescue well-made furniture and give it a new life. Nancy is a painter by trade and Miyoshi is a freelance photographer — together their artistic eyes bring a new vision to forgotten pieces.
Bricolage’s work will be featured at the Rare Bird on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Click here for more information on the Rare Bird January event.
