Ariane Owens lives in West Oakland. She started ceramics as a teenager, applying decals, making molds, forms and glazing as her mother’s production artist. Now her work is traditional majolica using terra cotta clay, tin glaze and mason stains. All her work is hand built and hand painted; she loves the uniqueness, imperfection and surprise of each piece. She gathers inspiration from fashion blogs, vintage prints, pottery, French magazines and from her work at Thistle Studio in Point Reyes Station.
Ariane’s work will be featured at the Rare Bird on Thursday, July 19 2012. Click here for more information on the Rare Bird July event.
